My Story

Christine VanPelt

I grew up in Cream Ridge, New Jersey - on the edge of the Great Pine Barrens.

My fondest memories are of going with my mother in the woods behind our house to pick berries.

When we got back, she would make the most amazing jams and muffins.

I can still feel the warmth of that kitchen and smell the wonderful aromas filling the house.

It instilled in me a lifelong passion for making the best baked goods and jams I could.

Through all the places I’ve lived, the jobs I’ve had, the people I’ve known, my mother’s influence has stayed with me.

My love of animals (I have four dogs), family traditions, and the warm comforts of home are all from her.

Of course, life happens, the years go by and you begin to lose focus on what is really important.

It happened to me for a while.

But then I bought these few acres in Northeast Pennsylvania.

After spending time on this farm - digging in cool soil, getting the smell of tomato plants on my hands, picking raspberries in the hot sun - an amazing thing started to happen.

It brought me back home - back to who I really am.

It also gave me a sense of purpose - a way of expressing myself through the food I grow and prepare.

I put my whole heart into these jams.

And I am so glad to share them with you.

Love,

Christine
